Lust in the Church, pedophilia and the Law of Silence

The Church must either react to the many pedophiles it harbors within its ranks, or it will definitively disappear because it would no longer be the Church.

HI hesitated a lot about whether or not to write this post. Finally, I've decided to do it because I believe it's my duty, primarily for two reasons: first, that I was Catholic before this degeneration of the Catholic Church, and second, that I feel a special aversion to the sexual abuse of minors, both because of what it represents as an abuse of power and because of its disastrous psychological consequences, as I've witnessed during my professional practice as a child psychiatrist.

If I remained silent, I would feel complicit in the greatest abomination that has occurred, and is still occurring, in the Church. Furthermore, many of my blog posts address the issue of sexual abuse in general. Therefore, it would be incomprehensible if I didn't express my opinion on this scandalous topic, which has so profoundly affected my beliefs and those of so many others.

REACTION TO THE FIRST NEWS

I must confess that the initial reports struck me as more of an attack against the Church than a deeply rooted problem within it, and even less so one of the magnitude it has reached. Isolated cases of pedophile priests came to light. It was unthinkable to me that it was so widespread and that the hierarchy had been complicit. law of silence to prevent this execrable matter from spreading, prioritizing the interests of individuals and the reputation of the "church" over the necessary reparation for the victims. How can such a sin be silenced? It is true that Jesus radically preached forgiveness, but it is also true that he said "to the that would scandalize one of these little ones"It would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea" (Mt, 18,6 ff).  I stand by Jesus's statement and find no justification for anything else. I want nothing more to do than see these criminals brought to justice and expelled from the priesthood.

My first bouts of nausea occurred with the news about Martial MacielThe founder of the Legionaries of Christ. One of the Church's greatest sexual predators: a pedophile, incestuous, living in concubinage, and "nobody knew anything." All kept quiet, and very quiet.. Even with the complicit silence of Pope John Paul II, who knew about his atrocities through the then Cardinal Ratzinger.

Then came the scandals of Boston, from Ireland, from Belgium…It was after all these scandals came to light that I started seeking out information as objectively as possible. Everything was confirmed and amplified by the sex trafficking rings and the predominantly homosexual orgies within the Vatican itself.

CURRENT SITUATION OF ECCLESIASTICAL PEDERASTY.

The news begins with the resignation of Benedict XVI. He receives an internal report that precipitates his resignation due to his feeling of powerlessness to resolve so much misery, so much corruption.

Hope arrives with Pope Francis, especially with his first measures andthe zero tolerance announcement in the face of child abuse. However, His good intentions are called into question by the stance he takes regarding the scandals that have emerged in Chile. He gives more credence to Bishop Barros than to the victims, whom he even insults. This immediately leads to another scandal when the Chilean justice system exposes the perversion of many priests in the Chilean clergy and the code of silence they enforced. Although it is already too late, the scandal has permeated Chilean society, and Pope Francis forces all the Chilean bishops to resign en masse.

Drug-fueled orgies in the Vatican, the spread of child abuse allegations to other locations. Now, The Pennsylvania Attorney General's report and the Vatican's silence regarding this report; the continued presence of the Archbishop of Washington and Cardinal, the  Mr. Wuerl who remained silent about many of these abuses, which are now being denounced by the public prosecutor's office; the continued presence in the Vatican's inner circle of power (the infamous C9 that conspired to install Francis as Pope) of cardinals with accusations against them, such as Farrel, Madariaga, Errázuriz, etc… It does not seem that the absolutely necessary measures will arrive that could save the credibility of a hierarchy that has miserably hidden so many crimes against children.

I have tried to be brief; I haven't even mentioned a fraction of what I could have said. I simply wish to express my absolute rejection of any measure other than placing these cases, and any others that may arise, in the hands of the civil justice system, regardless of any canonical measures, which are highly suspect, as Saint Damian already denounced in the Middle Ages. Above all, the victims must be protected; the trauma that these sons of Satan have inflicted on children who placed their complete trust in them must be repaired, if psychologically possible. There is no room for half measures here.

I've done a lot of reading on this topic, and I've tried to be objective. Here's a sample of it:
